Former Mayor Catley Out Panhandling Again

One Of Our Visitors Who Tells Us He’s A Republican, Sent Us A Copy Of A Letter From Former Mayor Catley. Most Of The Letter Is Spent Endorsing The Republican Team Of Beck, Angelini & Casagrande And Was Apparently Mailed Out To Neptune Republicans.

Actually, We Noticed That Catley Didn’t Even Sign The Letter, So He Must Have Just Rented Out His Name…

We Also Noticed The Same Letter Published In The Coaster Yesterday…

Catley Endorsement

Worse Yet, Almost As An After Thought, Catley Endorsed The Republican Candidate For Neptune Township Committee, Rich Silva.

Something’s Fishy Here Folks…

First of all, wouldn’t Catley want to endorse Neptune Township’s Candidate, Rich Silva; first?

After all, shouldn’t the (supposed) strength of Catley’s endorsement be used to help his own local party?  It’s always been a steadfast rule of politics to strengthen your local candidates position in order to pull voters out for them to vote up ticket.

We Would Guess Then That Catley Doesn’t Have Much Faith In Silva’s Ability To Win.

That’s sad. Though seemingly inexperienced in politics according to reviews from his forum appearances, Silva is a really nice guy, However, he deserves better than Tom Catley as a mentor. After all, the word on the street is that Chicken Catley didn’t want to loose in 2008 with Obama at the top of the ticket; so he bailed on his party and left someone else to the wolves. If you have to use a letter like this to draw

But here’s what’s really at work here fellow Neptunians…

To begin with, the endorsement letter was paid for and mailed by the 11th District team of Beck, Angelini & Casagrande. Just from that alone, you know who’s gonna get top billing.

But there’s that also been a long running story that Cately has been angling for some sort of judgeship over all of the years he was brown nosing Kean & Crew. We strongly suspect Kean new better than getting such a position for Catley.

Locally, Catley’s Endorsement Has Never Meant Anything. He’s A Washed Up, Hack Lawyer; Who’s Ego Is As Big As The Hoover Damn. Only In Catley’s Mind Does Anyone Think That His Endorsement Means Anything.

After all, none of the Catley endorsed Neptune Township Candidates have ever one over the last 5 years. So, since the word on the street is that Catley is only in it for himself…

It Is Our Firm Belief That This Endorsement Letter Was Nothing More Than Tom Catley Pandering For Some Political Appointment So That He Could Find A Way To Butter His Bread.

Folks, the 11th District is pretty much solidly Republican, but Catley’s letter isn’t much of a help in a Town that’s been solidly Democrat due to the failures of Catley & crew to maintain Republican representation over the years.

This Letter Can ONLY Be An Attempt By Catley To Pander For Favoritism From Jen Beck & Her Team. And Based Many Other People’s Thoughts, Catley Is Right At Home With “Show Boat Beck.”

FOLLOW THE MONEY…

IN THIS CASE, THE POTENTIAL FOR MONEY & YOU FIGURE OUT CATLEY’S TRUE MOTIVES IN HIS POLITICAL EFFORTS

Catley Could Care Less About His Party. He’s Proven That With The His Leadership Skills Failing To Maintain Republican Representation. Catley’s Only Motive Is His Self Preservation.

KING BASCOM OVER RULES HARBOR COMMISSION

According To This Recent Article In The Coaster, King Bascom Believes He Knows Better Than The Harbor Commission Which Is Tasked With Operating The Township’s Municipal Marina

Marina Commission Over Ruled

We knew Mike Bascom wore many hats and has a lot of unelected power in Neptune, but folks; this is getting ridiculous…

Everyone knows this is a crappy economy and even the Chairwoman of the Commission knew that the current winter storage rates were too high for the current economy.

And let’s face it, the marina has a long way to go to being a desirable marina; which certainly must be another reason why our marina is lacking business.

Thus, it’s our opinion that Commissioner Fey and the commission were clearly doing the right thing, worked to recognize the situation; and bring in new business. That’s “Marketing 101.”

So, what does King Bascom use as a reason?

“Well, we’re redoing the bulk heads and it’s “impractical” to take on more boats.” Ok Mikey, Whatever You Say. Perhaps being a CFO doesn’t include Marketing 101 common sense & a middle ground…

The article clearly states that we stored only 60 boats last year while there was room for 100 boats. So, how about a common sense middle ground and the Marina take in only 80 boats leaving some room.

The extra 20 boats would clearly make up for the rate reduction, and when the economy improves along with the Marina’s condition, more boat owners would stay and rates can be gradually increased commensurate with market demand; eventually increasing revenue to the marina.

Cutting A Deal Now Would Have Clearly Sent A Message That Neptune Township’s Municipal Marina Wants New Business & Will Work To Earn It Under A Variety Of Circumstances.

You Know, The Marina Has A Travel Lift & Boats Can Be Moved As Work Proceeds On The Bulk Head. But Then, That’s The Problem With This Town…

No Common Sense

Ocean Grove Has A Right To Be Ticked Off…

And So Does The Rest Of Neptune Township!

We happened to come up the following post over at Blogfinger, and they got it right, when they commented on our “fire investigators letting Ocean Grove down.” While this may be a County Fire Investigation, so has Neptune Code Enforcement & the Administration let Ocean Grove down with regards to the Manchester fire. Quoting Blogfinger “if an inspection had been made in 2009, as required, the inspector could have discovered that problem (with the alarm system) and had it corrected prior to the fire.”

Code Enforcement also has let Ocean Grove down with  Demolition By Neglect to the point that the owner of 78 South Main Flouts A Court Order. These buildings should NEVER get to this type of a condition. Instead, the Township Committee worries about Boat’s and RV’s while “Ocean Grove Burns.”

The Administration lets us down with no follow through on redevelopment for Midtown. We loose the Coca Cola distribution center, where maybe the Administration could have worked to get the new environmentally friendly building constructed in Neptune.

They Snow us With News Of An “A+” Bond Rating. Wow & Woopee.

THERE ARE FOUR BOND RATING LEVELS ABOVE A PLUS!

Instead Of Patting Themselves On The Back, The Administration Ought To Be Saying “We’ll Try Harder” And Cut The Waste & Start Collecting Some More Health Insurance Costs From Our Municipal Employees.

The Administration continues to snow us with Nanny State ordinances like the recently enacted curfew. A curfew is a laugh, and no different than “gun control” legislation. Taking guns out of the hands of good people does nothing for crime. You have get the guns out of the hands of criminals.

This is nothing more than the Township Committee trying to LOOK LIKE it is trying to do something about crime in Midtown. And yet, crimes like this one recently covered in the Asbury Park Press continue to occur.

Do You Think Bad Kids Are REALLY Going To Pay Attention To A Curfew? If So, We’ve Got A Bridge To Sell You.

The Administration let us down by taking property rights, such as with the Boat & RV Ordinance. Such ordinances are nothing more than “class warfare, feel good” exercises in saying that “we did something,” no matter that it creates a bigger problem or puts a hardship on people.

All these people just want to have some fun in their lives without the government stepping on their bit of the American Dream. It’s no small wonder Boaters & RV’rs want to “get away from it all;” and how dare an elected official determine what a boater or rv’r can reasonably park on their property.

BUT LET’S GET BACK TO OCEAN GROVE’S COMPLAINT…

Here’s The Problem That Ocean Grove Just Can’t Seem To Recognize…

Ocean Grove Helps To Keep The Elected Democrat Regime In Office!

It used to be that Ocean Grove swung solidly to the right, helping to ensure that Republicans had more than a running chance to win some seats on the Township Committee. Such is no more.

Yet, Ocean Grove complains.

Ocean Grove Needs To Be Looking In The Mirror First, Before They Complain. You See Fellow Neptunians, The Problem Is US. People Have No Right, Zip, Zero, Nada; To Complain About A Problem Unless They First Do Something To Really Fix The Problem.

But, We’re Lazy, Not Just Ocean Grove; All Of Neptune’s Voters Are Lazy.

We don’t question our politicians harshly and look beyond the surface of their glossy campaign literature. We accept platitudes from them.We vote by political affiliation, rather than by issues, especially on pocket book issues.

We fall into a trap, thinking that “well, they (the Neptune Democrat regime)  may not do anything; but they also don’t do anything bad.”

FOLKS, THAT’S SILLY.

If Thinking That Way Is They Way You Want To Think, Then You Deserve What We Get. We Counter That…

IT’S NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR HARDWORKING TAXPAYERS

WE DESERVE BETTER FROM OUR ADMINISTRATION, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING WHAT WE PAY IN TAXES

There Is Simply NO Reason Whatsoever To Keep Electing Democrats In This Town. The Neptune Democrat Regime Is The Definition Of Mediocrity.

Their “Modus Operandi” Is One Of Doing Just What They Have To, Nothing More. They Don’t Operate With Any Bold Vision. That’s Particularly True With Mayor McMillan. He’s A Really Nice Guy, Really.

But Kevin Will Never Do Anything To Stick His Neck Out & Do What Is Really Right For The Citizens Of Neptune.

You’ve Got A Better Chance Of Winning Mega Millions This Week Than Seeing The Mayor Act In A Bold Manner.

IT’S HIGH TIME THAT PEOPLE START WAKING UP AND REALIZE THAT THE DEMOCRATS ARE DESTROYING NEPTUNE WITH THEIR ACCEPTANCE OF MEDIOCRITY.

A Follow Up Question For Mr. Mayor

For All Of The Talk About The Democrats Finding Something To Put At The Site Of The Former Hi Tech Park, NeptuneMatters Wonders If Mr. Mayor McMillan Tried To Get Coke To Build Their Spanking New Environmentally Sound Plant In Neptune So That We Could Keep The Jobs Here?

Or, For That Matter; Since This May Have Been In The Pipeline For Months…

DID ANY OF OUR PREVIOUS MAYORS TRY TO KEEP THE 125 COCA COLA JOBS HERE BY TRYING TO GET THEM TO BUILD HERE?

After All, A Spanking New Distribution Center Would Have Been A Nice Anchor For Other Businesses To Come & Build At The Site Of The Former Hi Tech Park.

BUT THEN, THIS IS THE KIND OF QUESTION THAT THE LAME STREET MEDIA NEEDS TO BE ASKING OF OUR POLITICIANS…

More Neptune Jobs Leaving The Midtown Area

According To The Asbury Park Press, The Coca Cola Plant On Route 35 Is Closing And We Are Loosing About 125 Jobs…

Coke Moving

So, what did the Neptune Democrats do to try and save these jobs. On his election literature, Mayor McMillan touts forming a Mayor’s Business Forum in order to bring in new jobs, but is this just “smoke & mirrors?”.

Did he try to even save these jobs?

Where are the jobs Mayor McMillan?

A Few Low Paying Service Worker Jobs At WaWa Will Do Nothing To Solve The Problem In Neptune. Instead Of Bribing Midtown With One New & One Refurbished Park, How About Getting Some Jobs For Midtown’s Residents?
