Yes, We’re Back…

If You Think We Weren’t Going To Re-Surface…

You Should Know That We Never Thought Of Leaving The Scene…

Especially With Randy Bishop Paying Homage & Endorsing The Union Label Of The Gavel Which He Made The Official Gavel Of Neptune Township.

Randy, Aren’t There Many More Important Things To Deal With Other Than Making Yourself Look Silly & Reminding Voters That Democrats Are For Union Contracts That Hurt Tax Payers?

You See Fellow Neptunians, The Randy Bishop Comment Was A Learning Experience, A “Teachable Moment.”

The Moral Of The Story Is That Now We Know  We Have Two Firmly Pro Union Officials. One The Sitting Mayor; And The Second; The Mayor In Waiting, None Other Than Eric “Union Boss” Houghteling, Who Is A Powerful Union Official Of The IBEW 400…

Now that we got that off of our chest; we must admit in a bit of a “Year In Review,” kind of moment; that we; Neptune Matters failed Neptune…

We failed our community by not marketing ourselves in a manner that would seriously increase our page views so that many more of Neptune’s voters could fully understand the shameless antics of our Township Committee.

We failed to let Neptune know enough about the behind the scenes B.S. that goes on and the pittance our Municipal Employees pay for their health care benefits.

We failed to let Neptune know about the time wasted on and burdens caused by unenforceable ordinances and the excessive bonding that goes on in Neptune.

If ONLY You Knew The Depth Of The B.S. The Democrat Regime Engages In….

THAT, Will Change This Year Folks.

Actually, there’s a few things that will change…

First, rather than forcing ourselves to publish articles on a schedule; we will post them as issues develop. We’re going to concentrate on content over volume. Don’t worry Neptune Officialdom, we’ve got plenty of grist and article ideas put aside.

Secondly, what will also change is our marketing effort. Instead of small, stealth like mailings to individuals; come spring time, we will do much more to promote our blog across town. It’s time Neptunians know more…

What We Will Revisit…

Is our series on “Why Blacks Vote Democrat.” We are still mystified as to why Diana Harris, Ermon Jones & others continue to support a party that talks more than it delivers.

We’ve come across some very interesting commentary from Dr. Alveta King and others in the Black Community asking this same thing. We hope to present that in a very professional manner.

In The Meantime…

We’ll Keep Building Our Archives So That When We Get A Bigger Page View Count, There Will Be Plenty Of Material For Our New Readers To Connect With.

A Shooting In Shark River Hills

Hopefully By Now, Our Fellow Neptunians Have Heard About The Shooting On Tuesday In The Shark River Hills Section Of The Township. Here Is The Asbury Park Press Coverage From Yesterday…

Neptune Shooting Victim

Crime Needs To Be Treated Equally In All Sections Of The Town, With The Exception That Midtown Deserves Extra Attention Due To The Need To Stamp Out Gun & Drug Violence That Threatens The Very Existence Of Midtown & It’s Opportunity For Redevelopment. It Is Also Common Knowledge That Much Of That Infiltrates Over To Midtown From Asbury Park.

But Something Is Going On In The Hills & The Rest Of Neptune With Crime, For Whatever Reasons; Spreading Out All Across Town & There Seems To Be Nothing Going On To Stop It.

According to the commentators posts under the above Press article, there seems to be a lot of unsubstantiated theories about what happened with this most recent gun violence in a quiet residential section of the town. Some of the theories are more nefarious than the other. We can’t address those motives without facts, but somehow; we just don’t quite get the idea of this just being a day light burglary with a gun and a getaway car in a section of town where such is uncommon.

Were The Perps Downright Desperate & Stupid, Or Was This More Than A Simple Burglary? One Wonders What King Bascom Things About Violence Coming To His Neighborhood. Who Knows…

What we WILL address is the fact that society in our area seems to be breaking down because of the desperate times we are in; all at the hands of the Democrat Regime in Washington.. Those that can’t find jobs in these troubled times may be turning to burglaries in order to put food on the table and the  Perhaps also, the Rif-Raf & Drug Lords from Asbury Park & other towns are getting more desperate in these troubled times, desperate for funds to feed their various drug habits.

That leads to them spreading their efforts into more affluent areas of the township. Do these various neighborhoods have to become “isolated fortresses” in order to protect themselves against this kind of spreading havoc?

There was a mini crime wave earlier in Neptune, including the Hills where a few homes were broken into along with a whole heck of a lot of cars. Now this ups the ante. It’s the same in Ocean Grove, with a lot of problems there. There was also a mini crime wave in West Neptune earlier this year. And, we’ve also talked about Neptune’s troubling crime numbers.

And Now This Shooting In The Hills.

That’s Troubling Folks & “Something’s Gotta Give.”

What’s gotta give is that Neptune Township can no longer work as if these things are just “anomalies.” We need a Task Force of Police Officers designated to look at these increasing numbers, figure out the reasons and find ways to attack the growing problem of drug, gun and gang violence. We MUST focus on crime prevention before more residents start moving out.

What’s gotta give is that Neptunians MUST start getting more deeply involved in what is happening with regards to crime in Neptune. We need to get involved or Neptune will soon be seen as “Little Asbury.”

Chief Adams Has Been On The Job For Months Now…

It’s Time To Put The Onus For Performance On Him

You think property values are bad in town now. Hell, our vacancy rate is already bad enough. Imagine if we continue to fall past “bottom” as a result of crime.

Now, don’t take involvement as meaning that we all get involved in formalized citizen & neighborhood watch programs. Such programs instituted all across town will only lead to more bureaucracy and more people with egos too big for their britches telling people what to do.

While we all can be looking out for our neighbors and reporting suspicious things such as frequent comings and goings in the middle of the night and signs of gang involvement; REAL INVOLVEMENT to us here at NeptuneMatters has always meant putting pressure on Neptune Township’s officials to see that they develop a real plan to start combating crime that seems to be spreading and getting out of control.

Oh, BTW; A Closing Question For The Neptune Township Committee…

What Happened To The Idea Of Red Light Cameras Which Could Provide Revenue To The Township Which Might Help Release Existing Police Resources To A Crime Task Force, As Well As Fund New Resources?

The Silence From The Township Committee Is Deafening & Residents Are Getting Scared, Downright Scared Of What Is Happening In Town…

And YET, We Keep Electing The Same Clowns That Make Decisions.

From The National Stage…

You Want To Know Why We Despise Unions Like Obama’s Favorite, The Service Employees International? Click The Link…

SEIU COLLECTING DUES FROM MEDICAID PAYMENTS MEANT FOR DISABLED CHILDREN

That’s Right Folks!

In Michigan, the SEIU considers the parents of disabled children to be caregivers, siphoning off $6 million dollars in dues from parents who often have enough trouble as it is trying to get by handling huge medical bills.

This is all a scam meant to line the union’s pockets with more dues in order to help oil the unions various political machines.  As one commentator noted under this article, “they (the unions) are nothing but blood sucking parasites.”

One wonders what Township Committee Person Eric Houghteling Thinks About This Ploy To Defraud Hard Working & Financially Challenged Families. After All, Eric Houghteling Is Not Only A Township Committee Person, But He’s Also A Union Member AND The Political Director Of The Powerful IBEW 400 Electrical Worker’s Unions.

If One Thinks That The Unions Are “For Working Families,” This Story Ought To Dissuade You From That False Premise. The Unions Are ONLY For Themselves & For Finding Ways To Pick YOUR Pockets So That They Can Keep Themselves & Their Powerful Democrat Friends Like Obama In Office.

“Ooops, I (We) Did It Again

Let’s Face It Folks, Yesterday, Election Day 2011; Was A Britney Spears Moment In Neptune Township. Not Only Did We Continue To Elect More Of The Same Old, But We Had A Miserable Turnout.

Word On The Street Is That Yesterday’s Turnout Was The Worst In Years.

D0es Anyone Care About Neptune Township?

From the looks of the vote count across town, which was shared to us by Rick Cuttrel, the Neptune Township Clerk,  it’s our opinion that no voting district turned out in any great sense to support their candidates.

Who’s fault is it?

Mostly, it’s our own. It’s OUR civic duty to get out and vote. Otherwise, we have no right to complain. And let’s face it folks; the weather was down right beautiful yesterday. There was no excuse to to wisely spend 5 minutes of your time exercising your responsibilities.

Are We That Jaded As To What Is Going On In Town That 114 Of Us Did NOT Vote For A Township Committee Candidate?

What’s THAT about folks?

Was it that 114 people could not form an opinion about the Neptune Candidates; yet somehow voted on up ticket races? More likely,, 114 people did not like either candidate. At least 5 more people had the courage to write in a name.

Yup, Neptune Voters Are About As Lame As The Song, Oops, I Did It Again.

And here exactly what is happening folks. Let us refer you to our first Civics Lesson, posted almost a year ago, where we talked about the basis for the development of a “Soft Tyranny”

Civics Lesson 1

A difference of only 640 people decided a race in a town the size of Neptune Township. That’s only 3 Tenths of one percent of the total voters in Neptune deciding on people who run our town.

That’s Sad Folks.

The Voters That Didn’t Turn Out Are Sad.

You Know, We’re Wondering If Randy Bishop Thinks That’s “Un American?”

Or maybe, voters are just too busy working two or three jobs to pay the confiscatory taxes that are imposed on us by the Democrat Regime. Maybe, Republican and Right leaning voters have become so disillusioned & disgusted over some 5 or 6 years of losses that they feel one Republican on the Committee means nothing, or that there is nothing that can be done in town to create a Republican Victory.

In Any Case, Any Of The Reasons Are Bad For Democracy.

Don’t get us wrong, we’re not happy that Mayor McWimp won. We’re down right disgusted.  However BOTH the Democrats and the Republicans failed to get voters out this year. That’s called Democracy folks, and when so few decide elections…

There’s Something Wrong In “River City”

Maybe It’s Time For A True Independent Ticket In Neptune

This Says It All About Election Day

This Morning, We Came Across The Following Sign, Sponsored By Our Friends At The IBEW Local 400 On Highway 138 In Wall Township. The SAME Local Of Which Our Township Committeeman, Eric Houghtaling Is The POLITICAL Director Of.

No Doubt, Township Committeeman Houghtaling “Approved This Message.”

You See Folks, This Is What This Is Really All About…

THE UNION’S ONLY CONCERN IS THEIR PAYCHECK, NOT YOUR WALLET WHICH IS ALREADY OVERBURDENED BY TAXES AND FEES…

Much Of Your Taxes & Other Costs Of Life Are Impacted By Municipal Employee Unions & Other Costs Associated With High Priced Union Contracts.

There Is An Alternative View To This Message Though…

IS THE UNION SAYING “VOTE OR YOU DON’T GET PAID?”

We Certainly Hope Not, But In Either Case; The Message Is A Dangerous One For Voters. Remember Though, YOU Elected A Powerful Union Official To The Township Committee.
